4-12-06 WATCH IT!  JESSICA MIGHT PECK YOU TO DEATH!  Ever see Bill and Coo?  It's a ground-breaking
melodrama from 1947 with an all bird cast.  That's right, a story of greed and romance in small town America
acted out entirely by birds.    A remake is planned, and internet buzz claims that very little CGI will be used.
Jessica Simpson and Justin Timberlake reportingly are signed on.  Will it be old-fashioned cell animation, or
will they convince Jessica to act in a full parakeet outfit?    Click

2/28/06- CHARLES LANE, CLASSIC CHARACTER ACTOR, STILL ALIVE AT 101!
He was always the fussy, humorless businessman, lawyer, tax collector in classics like 42nd Street (33)
Twentieth Century (34) Mr. Deeds Goes To Town (36), It's A Wonderful Life  (46), It's  A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad
World
(63) and countless TV sitcoms.  At his 101st birthday bash, the still sharp as a tack Mr. Lane told
everybody "In case anyone is asking, I'm still available."  Note: We lost Charlie in 2007, at 102 years young, still,
You go, Charlie!

the continious loop with Paris' favorite film from Childhood,

2-25-2007 -  IT'S TRUE!  KLATTAU GETS A RE-DEAUX!
One of the biggie studios announced they are doing a mega-remake of Robert Wise's
Robert Wise's classic cautionary sci-fi gem
The Day The Earth Stood Still.     Wouldn't it be cool if
Leonardo DiCaprio was cast as Gort?!  Intended Release date: May 2008.
1-24-2007 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERNEST BORGNINE!  The world's
oldest  Oscar winner (For 1956's
Marty) is still in the acting biz at 90!     We all remember his death by
many Mickey Mouses in
Wiilard or him sporting Ram horns in The Devil's Rain.    Some of my favorite
early Borgnine appearances were in
Vera Cruz (54) and Bad Day at Black Rock (54)
4-4-2007-  STREET TRASH SEQUEL?   Internet rumor has it that Roy Frumkes may be involved in a
sequel to
Street Trash, the cult grosser-outter he wrote and produced back in 1987.  Meanwhile,

Street Trash.  Beautiful transfer from the original 35mm negative,
and a great making of documentary.  So Sweet!
4-12-07- HALL OF PRESIDENTS FILM HELD UP. Screen-writers penning the upcoming "Hall of
the Presidents" movie sued their producer claiming the producer reworked the screenplay, and without
permission circulated it to potential actors.  "They added a scene where a robotic Presidential James
Polk spouts crow-wings (see left) and lustfully flies off with a blonde bikini gal," the writer claims.    "This
is not historically inaccurate.   Polk had a thing for only redheads!"

4-20-07- HEY!  THEY GET HELLZAPOPPIN' -  French video stores just
released a handsome DVD of the highly elusive Hollywood comedy classic-
Hellzapoppin.   This hard to believe 1941 gem stars the sadly forgotten comedy
team Olsen and Johnson.    (The still on the left is from the movie, just to give you
an idea!)  Fans of classic cinema are in an uproar because films like this and
many others are only available in Europe and not on their native soil.   Shame!
6-1-07-  FIRST DAY OF HALL OF THE PRESIDENTS HELD UP.  Finally, after much
legal battles with Presidential family members, the ghost of Chester A. Arthur, THE

lived first day of shooting.   Actors Tommy Lee Jones (as Warren Harding) Alec
Baldwin (as both Grover Clevelands) walked off the set when they learned what drink
was being served by craft services  (pictured left). You Divas!

CLOSE!
 - It started as an after-the-last-day-of-shooting-bash on the set of the
film Gigli (Not to be confused with Eric von Strohiem silent classic),
scheduled to last 4 hours.  The party lasted from the early evening hours May
18, 2003 to September 9, 2007 at about 7 am.   "We were so happy with our

for breaks to shoot other movies." claimed a Gigli Big Wig.   At left, a
snapshot from the height of the party (mid 2006)
