Many virus protection and ID protection software are well worth having! But, many web scammers work under the radar.

1) Many e-mail hosting facilities let scammers create (for free!) an e-mail address that require very little and maybe no proof of who they really are. I feel that Google is very good for this.
2) WINE, WOMEN AND CASH- Despite recent tragedies such as the woman who was murdered by a Craigslist poster, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30314735/ it is STILL very easy for scammers place a phony ad on Craigslist to attract victims. We did it twice in our film.
3) Our Craigslist ads directed victims to websites we created using free, easy to learn web-site building software. One site was for a phony film called DECLARED. We convinced two hopeful actors to give us social security numbers! Here's our "site": http://www.mbthemovie.com/Declared.html.
5) MILLIONAIRE DATING SITES- The easiest scam to pull (and we do it in detail and with success in the film, THE MAKE-BELIEVERS) was to go on those dating sites that match ordinary women with bachelor millionaires. We created a fake millionaire, Yannis Legendre, who made his fortune helping the farmers of a Mermicological Farm (Mermicological is the term for "study of ants"- Yes, an ant farm!) 195 women responded to the ad, and you can do this too.
FOR MORE DETAILS- PLEASE SEE OUR FILM- THE MAKE BELIEVERS-
This is the image we posted on Millionaire Dating Sites (We just simply snapped this pic in front of a nearby catering hall) 195 women fell for our scam.
